Protein per meal: stop chasing the 30-gram rule
A practical way to think about protein: aim for the day first, spread it when it fits, and do not panic when dinner carries more than one neat serving.

The useful correction
The familiar 30-gram rule confuses two different ideas: digestion and the short-term muscle-building response measured in some studies. Your body does not simply stop absorbing protein at an arbitrary meal boundary.
For everyday tracking, the more useful question is whether your total intake supports your goal and whether your pattern is easy enough to repeat.
A calmer way to log it
Set a daily protein range, then divide it across the meals you actually eat. Three satisfying meals are more useful than an ideal schedule you abandon by Thursday. A larger dinner still counts toward the day; it is not wasted because it did not fit a perfect template.
